But as with all technologies, there are some rough edges and things to be wary of. In this talk Jeremy steps through some of the hard-fought lessons learned from running production ASP.NET Core 1.0 applications in Linux Containers on top of CoreCLR (.NET Core). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like and subscribe if you enjoyed this content. This session was recorded live at CodeStock 2011 - http://codestock.org You've finally done it. You sold it to your fellow developers. You fought with your boss and finally won his buy-in. You're finally making the switch to ASP.NET MVC. You promised your boss more features, less bugs, and faster turn-around. But there's a surprise waiting for you. ASP.NET MVC is much less a "framework" than a set of building blocks that you can use to create an actual framework. If you don't invest in building up a proper framework for your application, you will encounter maintenance woes that make even WebForms look tame. In this session, I'll show you how to take full advantage of what ASP.NET MVC brings to the table while creating a robust, extensible application framework. You'll see how to push common concerns into your framework and away from your day-to-day development activities. Topics we'll cover include establishing conventions for generating your UI, how to leverage new dependency-injection features of MVC 3, separating concerns with an application bus, and we'll even cover some jQuery black magic.
I want a piece of this ones hull. I honor this fighter. ASP all grade A vs NPC cobra in a combat zone, wintii. I kept the turret beams on most of the time as I wanted every bit of damage. I also pursued it, as many NPC's had been jumping away and escaping.
Would you have fought or just given up the jewelry? This "Best of ASP" video first was narrated on our website in November 2015. There are over 700 narrated defensive encounters on our Videos tab of our Facebook page...come see what you've missed! I think this mugger got what he paid for, personally. Don’t think for a moment that you don’t need every bit of Active Self Protection you can muster in the moment that a mugger attacks you. This guy had it and it served him well. Original video of the mugger getting his just desserts available here: https://get-asp.com/pve1 What do we learn here about fighting off a mugger? 1. There’s a well-worn joke that ATM stands for “Accessory To Mugging,” and it’s not far from the truth. The ATM is of course a likely place to be attacked because it is a transitional space. A mugger or armed robber can easily ambush you if your attention is engrossed in the machine or your phone, and they are built to allow for easy access and escape. When you’re at the ATM, be sure to be extra aware of what is going on around you. I even suggest standing with your back to the machine, or at least with your shoulders perpendicular to it so that you can constantly see what is happening around you! Want to learn more? So I'm watching a 4v2 wing battle wrap up, and a Cmdr involved in said fight attacks. We are on each other's friends list so I waited for about 30% of my hull to get shot away before I fought back. Sorry Cmdr Browney.
This intended victim is a brave fighter to stop an attempted sexual assault against her. This is a great and real-life example of how you practice Active Self Protection and stop a sexual assault of this magnitude! Original video and news story of the sexual assault attempt available here: https://get-asp.com/for5 What does this brave woman teach us about defending ourselves against a sexual assault? 1. Compliance does not at all guarantee your safety in the face of a sexual assault. We know that sexual assault victims who fight back are no more likely to be harmed than if they don’t fight back, and they are less likely to be raped. (study here: https://get-asp.com/601c if you need proof on that) Compliance does not guarantee safety, as placing your safety in the hands of someone willing to commit a felony is a terrible idea. This victim fought back and her outcome was certainly no worse than if she hadn’t. Kudos to her! Want to learn more? Over the course of 11 days, 48 of the best male junior surfers in the world fought to attain the coveted ASP World Junior Championship title. Jack Freestone and Ezekiel Lau were engaged in some tough heats and laid down some of the performances of the event -- including two perfect 10s -- which is how and why they found themselves in the final of the Oakley World Pro Junior in Bali.
